History
[edit]In June 2009, Primetel announced the launch of its submarine fiber cable landing station inGeroskipouand that Reliance Globalcom had terminated its 2.7 terabit HAWK submarine cable system into it.[2]
In May 2011, Primetel launched the firstmobile virtual network operatorin Cyprus, making it the third cellphone operator on the island.[3]Primetel has recently launched Mobile telephony services with Quad–Play services (Fixed and mobile telephony, Internet and TV).[citation needed]
In April 2015, Primetel launched the thirdmobile network operatorin Cyprus.[3]Based on the latest data[example needed]released in December 2018, Primetel holds 10.50% Market Share in Mobile Subscriptions in Cyprus.[citation needed]
In July 2023, Primetel was placed into administration after defaulting on a loan it has acquired from Signal Capital Partners.[4]
