Qingtongxia(simplified Chinese:Đồng thau hiệp;traditional Chinese:Đồng thau hiệp;pinyin:Qīngtóngxiá;Wade–Giles:Ch’ing-t’ong-hsia;lit.'Bronze Gorge',Xiao'erjing:ٿٍْطْوثِيَا شِ) is a city in north-centralNingxia,China. Administratively, Qingtongxia is acounty-level citywithin theprefecture-level cityofWuzhong.It is located on the left (northwestern) bank of theYellow River,opposite and a bit upstream of Wuzhong main urban area, and bordersInner Mongoliato the west.
Qingtongxia had 264,717 residents in 2010. Many[quantify]residents of Qingtongxia areHuiMuslim.
Places of interest
[edit]On the bank of the Yellow River outside the city of Qingtongxia is the site of108 Buddhist stupaswhich were constructed during theWestern Xiaperiod.
Economy
[edit]Qingtongxia Damon the Yellow River (37°53′05″N105°59′25″E/ 37.88472°N 105.99028°E) is located in Qingtongxia. A major irrigation canal branches off the river near the dam and runs north.
