Rangharare a community ofMuslim Rajputsin the Indian states ofHaryana,Punjab,Himachal Pradesh,DelhiandUttar Pradesh;[1]and inSindh(Muhajirs) andPunjabin Pakistan.[2]
History and origin
The Ranghar were classified as an "agricultural tribe" by theBritish Rajadministration. This was often taken to be synonymous with the classification ofmartial race,and some Ranghars were recruited to theBritish Indian Army,[3]especially inSkinner's Horse.[4]
