The program includes gripping stories on national issues, in-depth interviews with the most notable figures and newsmakers, as well as touching pieces on regular Filipinos who have had exceptional experiences. In addition to supporting those in need, the show is well-known for its signature initiative, the "Korina's Handog Tsinelas Campaign,"which strives to improve the lives of millions of Filipino children one pair of slippers at a time.[1]

Rated Korina was launched asBalitang Kin 1996 as an offshoot of theBalitang Ksegment ofTV Patrolwhen Sanchez replacedMel Tiangcoafter the latter was suspended from the network untilNoli de Castrobecame the sole anchor of the said newscast in the same year.

The program was aired every Sunday night on ABS-CBN'sYes Weekend!block. It aired a replay telecast onDZMM TeleRadyoevery Monday at 2:00PM and Tuesday at 1:00AM, and onJeepney TVevery Wednesday at 4:30PM, It also aired worldwide viaTFC.The program is similar in style and presentation to the defunct news magazine showBalitang Kwhich was also hosted by Sanchez herself.

On August 11, 2019, Rated K was moved toGoin' Bulilit's timeslot of 6:30 pm to give way for iWant Originals. The show was temporarily suspended on May 3, 2020, due to theABS-CBN shutdownbecause of thecease and desistorder of theNational Telecommunications Commission(NTC), following theexpiration of the network's 25-year franchise,which granted on March 30, 1995.

Rated Kwas officially cancelled, having been excluded from the programming lineup ofKapamilya Channeland replaced byIba 'Yan,hosted byAngel Locsin.Sanchez and its staff continued the program as an online show utilizing their social media accounts.

The show moved toTV5and was retitled asRated Korina(after the former DZMM radio program), after Sanchez signed a contract withBrightlight Productionson October 7, 2020. The second incarnation ofRated Kpremiered on the network's Saturday afternoon block on October 24.

The show went on series break on April 24, 2021 until it returned to its original international TV platform, TFC on May 29.

Since June 19 and 20, 2021, the show returned for a new season. It airs fresh episodes on ABS-CBN'sKapamilya Channeland ZOE TV'sA2Zevery Saturday at 6:30 p.m. with a catch-up airing on TV5 every Saturday at 10:45 p.m. andOne PHevery Sunday at 7 p.m. It is also available on ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Online Live, replacing the re-runs ofGandang Gabi, Vice!,andWe Rise Togetherand on its OTT platform iWantTFC, and worldwide via The Filipino Channel.

On June 17, 2023, following program changes on Kapamilya Channel and A2Z, the show's production was given back to ABS-CBN Studios and ABS-CBN News after more than two years of being co-produced by Brightlight Productions and due to that, a break bumper for the show was produced for its TV5 airing. The delay telecast onCignal TV'sOne PHevery Sunday night concluded the next day.

A radio show entitledRated Korinawas aired onDZMMand cable channelDZMM TeleRadyofrom 2012 to 2014. The radio program premiered on January 9, 2012 and ended on January 3, 2014 after almost 2 years of airing and was replaced bySakto.Sanchez resigned from her radio program to pursue her master's degree atAteneo de Manila University.

Rated Korinais one of the longest-running shows onABS-CBN,regarded for its credibility and reliability featuring the latest trends in food, entertainment, leisure, science, and technology.[2]Manila Standardhailed the show as "one of the most trusted platforms of both local and international celebrities."[2]The show has already received countless accolades and recognitions across the world.Rated Korinahas been a finalist inNew York Festivals International TV and Film Awardstwice (2009 and 2012);[3]while Sanchez herself was honored as 'Highly Commended' in the category "Current Affairs Presenter" at 2012Asian Television Awardsfor her outstanding work.[4][5]

Rated Korinais an eight-time "Best Magazine Show"winner at thePMPC Star Awards for Television[6]while the host, Sanchez, is a ten-time "Best Magazine Show Host"winner at the same ceremony.[7]Since the show premiered on television, the show has since been among the most watched weekend shows in the Philippines. According toKantar Media,the show consistently logged high viewership attaining 26.9% (Total Philippines Household Ratings) in June 24, 2012.[8]
