Richard Gant(born March 10, 1944)[1]is an American actor. His credits include the filmRocky V(1990), where he played theDon King-esque George Washington Duke;[2][3][4]Hostetler inDeadwood(2004–2006); and Owen inMen of a Certain Age(2009–2012).
He has also appeared in a 1989 episode ofMiami Vice,as Battlin’ Barry Gay; as a possessed coroner inJason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday(1993); and in the films and TV showsDeadwood,The Big Lebowski,Babylon 5,Special Unit 2,L.A. Law,NYPD Blue,Living Single,Posse,Seinfeld,Friends,How I Met Your Mother,Men Don't Tell,andCharmed.He appeared in one episode each ofLois & Clark: The New Adventures of SupermanandSmallville.
He has also appeared inNutty Professor II: The KlumpsandBean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie,as well as reporter Charles Parker in the cult classic adaptation of Colin Bateman’sDivorcing Jack.
He had a minor role as asenior naval officerinRoland Emmerich'sGodzilla.Gant was also inDaddy Day Campas Col. Buck Hinton. Gant joinedGeneral Hospitalon February 6, 2007 in the role ofDr. Russell Ford.He starred inMen of a Certain Agefor its entire two-season run onTNTfrom 2009 to 2011.
