Roger Cole Anderson(November 11, 1942 – March 21, 2018) was anAmerican footballdefensive tacklewho played four seasons with theNew York Giantsof theNational Football League(NFL). He playedcollege footballatVirginia Union.[1]He was drafted by the Giants in the 7th round of the1964 NFL draftand theSan Diego Chargersin the 7th round of the1964 AFL Draft,and chose to sign with the Giants. Atwo-way playerin college,[2]Anderson was the primaryright tacklefor the Giants in his rookie season.[3]The next season, he switched todefensive tackleand played in eight games. In 1966, after being cut by theAtlanta Falcons,he signed with theMontreal Alouettesof theCanadian Football League(CFL).[4]Anderson returned to the Giants during the 1967 season to play defensive tackle after the team suffered multiple injuries.[5]Later in his career, he played for theNorfolk Neptunesof theAtlantic Coast Football League(ACFL) and theFlorida Blazersof theWorld Football League(WFL).[6]
