Born atCarshaltonin February 1936, Bowles attendedBrasenose College, Oxford.[1]While studying at Oxford, he made three appearances infirst-class cricketforOxford Universityin 1957, againstWorcestershire,theFree ForestersandLeicestershire.[2]He scored a total of 92 runs at anaverageof 15.33 in these three matches, with a high score of 43.[3]
