The single became one of the biggest hits of her career; it toppedBillboard'sHot R&B/Hip-Hop Songschart for two weeks from October 5 to October 12, 1991 and reached number eighteen on theBillboardHot 100.A colorfulmusic video,directed by Ralph Ziman, was shot for the single. Williams performed the song onThe Arsenio Hall Showin 1991.
At theGrammy Awardsin 1992, the song received aGrammy Awardnomination forBest Female R&B Vocal Performance.
