TheSamoa Time Zone[1]orSamoa Standard Time(SST)[2]observesstandard timeby subtracting eleven hours fromCoordinated Universal Time(UTC-11:00). The clock time in this zone is based on themean solar timeof the165th meridian westof theGreenwich Observatory.

The zone includes theU.S. territoryofAmerican Samoa,as well as theMidway Islandsand the uninhabited islands ofJarvis,Palmyra,andKingman Reef.It also includes the country ofNiue.

The zone is one hour behindHawaii-Aleutian Time Zoneand one hour ahead of theHowland and Baker islands,and 23 hours behindWake Island Time Zone.

The nation ofSamoaalso observed the same time as the Samoa Time Zone until it moved across the International Date Line at the end of 29 December 2011; Samoa was then 24 hours ahead of American Samoa, although the time difference varied seasonally until 2021 when Samoa discontinueddaylight savings time.[3][4]
