Samuel Roukin(ROO-kin; born 15 August 1980) is an English actor and DJ. He is best known for his role asJohn Graves Simcoein the series,Turn: Washington's SpiesandSimon "Ghost" RileyinCall of Duty: Modern Warfare IIandCall of Duty: Modern Warfare III.

Early life and education

Roukin was born inSouthport, England,and currently lives in Los Angeles. He displayed an interest in drama from an early age. He completed secondary school atMerchant Taylors' School, Crosbywhere he was involved in many school productions. He goes back to the school to give acting workshops to pupils involved indramaandEnglish.Roukin went on to train at theBristol Old Vic Theatre School,graduating in 2003. Roukin finished filmingBright Star,directed byJane Campionand based on the three-year romance between 19th century poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne.

In a 2016 interview, Roukin disclosed that he is both a husband and father.

Career

Roukin starred in the 2008 filmHappy-Go-Luckyas the love interest of the main character, Poppy (played bySally Hawkins).

ITV's two-part drama pilot for the television seriesDCI Bankshad Roukin portraying one half of a serial killing couple.[1]

Roukin later portrayed a detective in the ITV1 DramaAppropriate Adult,a two-part dramatization exploring the aftermath of the capture of serial killersFred WestandRosemary West.[2]

He played Bagot inRichard II,part of the cultural Olympiad of Shakespeare, directed by Rupert Goold and produced bySam Mendesfor BBC2 and NBC.

Roukin also portrayed British Lieutenant-ColonelJohn Graves Simcoe,one of the main antagonists of the 2014 AMC seriesTurn: Washington's Spies,aperiod dramaaboutAmerican Revolutionary Warspies.[3][4]

In 2022, Roukin revealed onTwitterthat he would play the role ofSimon "Ghost" RileyinCall of Duty: Modern Warfare II,replacingJeff Leach.[5],and did so again inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare III.
