Sarah Nemtanu

Sarah Nemtanu(born 1981) is a Franco-Romanian classical violinist.

Biography

Nemtanu started studying theviolinwith her father,Vladimir Nemtanu,soloconcertmasterof theOrchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine.[1]She then studied at theConservatoire de Bordeaux,unanimously obtaining a gold medal in violin and inchamber music.She entered theConservatoire de Parisin 1997, where she studied withGérard PouletandPierre-Laurent Aimard.She won the first prize of the Maurice Ravel competition atSaint-Jean-de-Luzin 1998 and the third prize at the International Stradivarius Competition in 2001.[citation needed]

Since 2002 she has been sharing withLuc Hérythe position of concertmaster of theOrchestre national de Francewith whom she also performs as soloist. This situation led her to be invited by famous conductors such asBernard Haitink,Colin DavisandRiccardo Muti.[citation needed]

In 2009, she performed Tchaikovsky'sViolon Concertoin the filmLe Concert.[citation needed]
