Scott Detrowis an American radio journalist who is the weekend host ofAll Things Considered,NPR's afternoon newsmagazine. He previously served as an NPR White House correspondent and co-hosted The NPR Politics Podcast.[1]
Early life and education[edit]
Detrow grew up in New Jersey and Wisconsin, and graduated fromMarquette University High School.[2][3]He attendedFordham University,graduating in 2007. As a college student, he worked for Fordham's public radio stationWFUV.He earned a master's degree from theUniversity of Pennsylvania'sFels Institute of Government.[4]
Career[edit]
Detrow began his career as a statehouse reporter for NPR member stationsWITFandKQED.He also reported onenergy policyin Pennsylvania for NPR's StateImpact project. He won a nationalMurrow Awardfor reporting on the deployment of aPennsylvania National Guardbrigade toIraq.[5]He also won a DuPont-Columbia Silver Baton for covering Pennsylvania's hydraulic fracturing boom.[6]
He joined NPR in 2015, where he coveredCongressand the2016and2020presidential elections. He became a White House correspondent in 2020.[4]In 2021, he producedSacred Ground,a documentary on the 20th anniversary of theFlight 93tragedy, in partnership with WITF.[7]In 2022, he guest-hostedAll Things Consideredon location fromUkraine.[8]
He began hostingAll Things Considered's weekend episodes on June 24, 2023, replacingMichel Martin.[9][10]In November 2023, he began hostingTrump's Trials,a new NPR podcast that covers the variouscriminal proceedingsagainst former PresidentDonald Trump.[11]
