Segambutis a sub-district inKuala Lumpur,Malaysia.The federal constituency represented in the Dewan Rakyat isSegambut (federal constituency).

From the high-end condominiums ofMont KiaraandSri Hartamasto the middle-class areas of Taman Sri Segambut andBandar Manjalara,and the rural areas of Segambut Dalam and Kampung Sungai Penchala, the Segambut district has a diverse population base.

Segambut once belonged to themukim of Batu Cavesbefore 1974, when Kuala Lumpur was still part ofSelangor.

The newIstana Negarais located in this district, alongJalan Tuanku Abdul Halim(Jalan Duta).

Its current campus opened in 2005.[1]TheMont'Kiara International SchoolandGarden International Schoolare international schools located within Mont Kiara while theCempaka International Schoolis located within Damansara Heights. Hibiscus International School in Taman Sri Segambut.SMK Seri Hartamasis one of the well known national secondary schools of Kuala Lumpur located in Desa Sri Hartamas. Transportation

Segambut is mainly served by theKA05Segambut Komuter station,on theKTM Komuter2Port Klang Line,that runs fromTanjung MalimtoPort Klang,viaKL Sentraland other city-centre stations. It is also served by variousrapid transitstations on the9MRT Kajang Linewhich includes theKG14Semantan,KG13Pusat Bandar DamansaraandKG10Taman Tun Dr Ismailstations.

Future stations within segambut will include the upcomingSegambut 2 Komuter stationof the Port Klang Line as well as the Dutamas, Taman Sri Sinar and Bukit Segambut stations as part of theMRT Circle Line.

Politics

The constituency was created in 1994 and has been considered to be aBarisan Nasionalsafe seat until the 2008 General Elections. Datuk Dr Tan Kee Kwong ofParti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia(Gerakan) had won the seat in the last three terms. However, in the2008 General Elections,Lim Lip Engfrom theDemocratic Action Party(DAP) won the seat. The current MP for Segambut isHannah Yeoh Tseow SuanfromPakatan Harapan-DAP, the former ADUN ofSubang Jaya.
