Sevlid Hurtić(born 2 January 1970) is a Bosnian politician serving asMinister of Human Rights and Refugeessince January 2023. He previously served as member of theNational Assembly of Republika Srpska.Hurtić is the founder and current president of theBosnian-Herzegovinian Greens.

Early life and education[edit]

Hurtić was born inDobojon 2 January 1970, where he finished elementary and secondary education. He completed postgraduate studies in economics in 2015 and obtained aPhDin 2019.[1]

Political career[edit]

Hurtić served as Minister of Commerce and Tourism in theGovernment of Republika Srpska.[1]Following the2018 general election,he filed legal complaints due to receiving exactly zero votes in voting booths 1 and 2 of the5th electoral district Doboj,despite party members and others having voted there.[2]

On 2 March 2022, Hurtić founded theBosnian-Herzegovinian Greens,becoming their president.[3]In the2022 general election,he was elected to theNational Assembly of Republika Srpska.[4]

On 25 January 2023, following the formation of a newCouncil of Ministerspresided over byBorjana Krišto,Hurtić was appointed as the newMinister of Human Rights and Refugeeswithin Krišto's government.[5]

Hurtić is married and has five children.[6]
