Shamirpet Lakeis an artificiallakenearHyderabad,India,it is about 24 kilometers north ofSecunderabad.

It was built during theNizamreign.

The lake attracts many birds, making it a goodbirdwatchingspot. A resort run by theGovernment of Telanganais located near the lake. TheOuter Ring Roadwill pass close to the lake.[1] There are many resorts and private dhabas around the lake. The Celebrity Club, Alankrita Resort, andLeonia Resortsare not very far from the lake. Institutes likeNALSAR University of Law,Institute of Public EnterpriseandBirla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani – HyderabadCampuses are also situated near the lake.[2]Jawahar Deer Park,which contains many deer, peacocks and different Birds, is also near to the lake. The park is maintained by theGovernment of Telangana.[3]

Many people go there for picnics or get-togethers. ManyTelugu filmswere shot there.[citation needed]

The Shamirpet Police take care of the lake as there were many cases regarding drowning. There are many Warning boards around the lake erected by the authorities.[4]
