Sorkhrud(Persian:سرخرود)[a]is a city in, and the capital of,Sorkhrud DistrictofMahmudabad County,Mazandaranprovince,Iran.[4]It also serves as the administrative center forDabuy-ye Shomali Rural District.[5]

Population[edit]

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 6,569 in 1,841 households.[6]The following census in 2011 counted 5,921 people in 1,832 households.[7]The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 6,699 people in 2,248 households.[2]
