Brackett has aBFAfromNew York University,where he attendedPlaywrights Horizons Theater School.[1]

Career[edit]

Brackett was assistant director toAnnie Dorsenon thePublic Theatreand Broadway productions ofPassing Strange.[2]

Off-Broadway,Brackett has directedTo My Girls(atSecond Stage Theatre),The Mad Ones(59E59 Theaters),City Of(Playwrights Horizons), andBuyer & Cellar(Barrow Street).[3]

His Off-Broadway productions ofA Strange Loop(originally produced atPlaywrights Horizons,Be More Chill(at thePershing Square Signature Center), andThe Lightning Thief(at theLucille Lortel Theater), all subsequently transferred toBroadway.A Strange Loopwon theDrama Desk Award,Drama League Award,Outer Critics Circle Award,andTony Awardfor Best Musical. For his efforts, Brackett was Tony-nominated for Best Direction of a Musical, and received the Best DirectorDrama DeskandOuter Critics Circleawards.
