Stephen Orgel

Stephen Orgelis Professor of English atStanford University.Best known as ascholarofShakespeare,Orgel writes primarily about thepoliticalandhistoricalcontext ofRenaissance literature.[1]

Orgel received his B.A. fromColumbia Universityin 1954 and his Ph.D. fromHarvard Universityin 1959.[2]He has taught at Stanford since 1985. He is a noted book collector.[3]
