Syahredzan bin Johan(Jawi:شهريزن جوهن, born 10 June 1983) is aMalaysianpolitician and lawyer who has served as theMember of Parliament(MP) forBangisince November 2022. He is a member of theDemocratic Action Party(DAP), a component party of thePakatan Harapan(PH) coalition.
Early life
[edit]Syahredzan Johan was born inPetaling Jaya, Selangoron 10 June 1983, to Tan Sri Johan Jaaffar, former chairman ofDewan Bahasa dan Pustaka(DBP).[1]Syahredzan graduated with a LL.B. degree fromCardiff Universityin 2005 before he was called to theBar of England and Wales.He subsequently returned to Malaysia and read in the chambers of RamRais & Partners, and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of theHigh Court of Malayain October 2007.[2]
Political career

He began his political career in 2018 after being appointed as political secretary toLim Kit Siang.He was elected to Parliament in the2022 general electionfor theBangiseat after his predecessorOng Kian Mingdecided not to seek reelection as theBangiMP.[3]
