Route of March

[edit]

The distance from Geneva to the Grand St Bernard is 160km.

The distance from Geneva to St Moritz is 480 km. It’s miles to the east.

If you were marching to Italy, you would march over the Grand St Bernard, like everyone else.

To reach St Moritz, you would march down the valley of Valais and over the Furkapass to Chur, thence south to St Moritz and onward into Italy.
