Irish radio

I've never heard of this individual, but I just heard him onRTÉ Radio 1.He seems like an ignorant fool. He actually thought he was in Britain here. He told us how we, the Irish, refer to soccer as "football" - actually, in Ireland soccer is soccer; "football" isFootball.He then rabbited on about an English game called cricket and how we, the Irish, apparently loved it and knew its rules. Perspective: there are around 20 cricket clubs in Ireland (and it's overwhelmingly played by people with pro-British colonial leanings), and around 3000GAAclubs in Ireland. Having said that, I got the impression that all of Europe was just like England to this guy. Does he ever research the places he visits?
