Criticism
[edit]- I added a line about the criticism from Popper that Adler's individual psychology is not testable. This could be expanded to include the reasons why it fails to be falsifiability. It would be good to expand this section to include other limitations and criticisms of this theory.[1]--Notgain(talk)11:32, 21 April 2018 (UTC)
Merge proposal, April 2018
[edit]Suggesting thatAdlerianarticle be merge into thisindividual psychologyandClassical Adlerian psychologyalso be merged too. To avoid confusion we might want to consider naming the article Adlerian individual psychology. --06:14, 28 April 2018 (UTC)— Precedingunsignedcomment added byNotgain(talk•contribs)
To clarify, here is the complete list of articles thatNotgainhas proposed merging intoIndividual psychology:
I will also point out the articleNeo-Adlerian,which should be considered during any content-shifting, if not itself merged as well. I am not sure exactly what is the best solution, but there is clearly some excessivecontent forkingoccurring among these articles.Biogeographist(talk)14:25, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
Paraphrasing
[edit]Some parts of the article need paraphrasing. For instance, while looking for sources, I found that the part citing Adler and Maslow's parallel theories had exact wordings from the textCounseling Psychology: An Integrated Positive Psychological Approach.[1]If you have access to related sources, you could start checking the unreferenced contents. Clarifying the intro
[edit]The intro currently takes for granted expert knowledge of the subject.
Specifically: "were intended to mirror the indivisible unity of the personality." Can we rephrase this to make it more accessible?
Secondly, it says "The papers cover the whole range ofhuman psychologyin a single survey. "
What does "a single survey" mean? If the papers were written over the course of years, then in what sense is it "single"? If "single" refers to them being published together as one book, then I believe "volume" or "book" would be a clearer word to use than "survey".BonaparteIII(talk)22:09, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
