[edit]Hi@Fylindfotberserk:,can you verify this (Khotta Bhasha) article withKhortha language. For me both are looking similar and using same termKhotta. MaxA-Matrix(talk)11:56, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
- @MaxA-Matrix:EthnologueconsidersKhottaas a dialect ofKudmaliand redirects to it. While,Khortharedirects toMagahi,so their might be some differences and overlaps. Also in theMagahiarticle,KhorthaandKhottaare alluded to be similar as written in its 'dialect' section. There are sources in this article (exp) which points to a specificgroup of peoplein Bengal region who speaks it, making it some sort of "ethnic dialect". I'd like to ping editors@AustronesierandChaipau:,they can analyse it better. -Fylindfotberserk(talk)12:18, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
- I can verifyFylindfotberserk's findings from Ethnologue. Khotta (kyw) is different from Khortha (mag & mai). Interestingly Khortha is the name of dialects of Magahi (mag) and Maithili (mai). I have updated the ISO code for Khotta but not Khorha, since we will need some more snooping.Chaipau(talk)03:07, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
