The Days of Yoreis a Britishhistorical playbyRichard Cumberland.It was first staged at theCovent Garden Theatreon 13 January 1796.[1]The original cast includedJames Middletonas Alfred, King of England,George Davies Harleyas Oddune, Earl of Devonshire,Alexander Popeas Voltimar,Elizabeth Clendiningas Lothaire,James Thompsonas Mollo,Willam Macreadyas Sibald,William Claremontas Ebert,Thomas Hullas Roger De Malvern andElizabeth Popeas Adela. The work is set in theAnglo-Saxonera.[2]The work was possibly influenced byHorace Walpole'sgothicnovelThe Mysterious Mother.[3]It ran for five performances.
