Therioherpetonis an extinct genus of small,carnivorouscynodontsbelonging to the cladeProzostrodontia,which lived in what is nowBrazilduring theLate Triassic.Itstype speciesisTherioherpeton cargnini.It was named in 1975 by the palaeontologistsJosé BonaparteandMário Costa Barberenabased on remains collected in theHyperodapedonAssemblage Zoneof theSanta Maria Formationin theParaná Basin.[1][2]
