Thomas Wlaschihais a German actor. Internationally, he is known for his roles asJaqen H'gharin thesecond,fifthandsixthseasons of the TV seriesGame of Thrones,[1][2]as well as Sebastian Berger in the police proceduralCrossing Lines.He also appeared in four episodes ofJack Ryanas Max Schenkel. He playsDmitri Antonov / "Enzo"in thefourth seasonofStranger Things.

Early life and education

Wlaschiha was born inDohna,Bezirk Dresden.When he was 17 years old, shortly after the fall of theBerlin Wall,he travelled to the United States as anexchange student.He remained there for a year, acting in theater and studying English.[3]

Career

Since 1998, he has played mostly supporting roles in numerous German and international TV and film productions. In his first leading role he portrayed Stephan in the 2000 gay milieu studyNo One Sleeps.[4]

On stage, Wlaschiha has performed with the TheaterJunge Generation(Young Generation) in Dresden from 1996 until 2000, with theSchauspielhaus Zürichin 2002, and with theSchauspiel Frankfurtin 2003.[citation needed]

In August 2011, he was cast as theconvictand assassinJaqen H'gharin season 2 of theHBOfantasy TV seriesGame of Thrones,[5]and reprised his role in seasons 5 and 6, starting in 2015. For his performance inGame of Throneshe was nominated forOutstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Seriesby theScreen Actors Guild Awardsin2016.[citation needed]

From 2013 to 2015, he starred in the crime seriesCrossing Linesas Kommissar Sebastian Berger, a German police officer.[citation needed]

Wlaschiha portrayed theGestapoinspector Hagan Forster in the 2018 television seriesDas Boot,and subsequently in the second and third series.[6]

As avoice actor,Wlaschiha is heard infilm dubs,audiobooks,and commercials. For some of his international work (e.g.,Game of Thrones), Wlaschiha dubs himself in German.[2]He voicedBuzz Lightyearin the German dub ofLightyear.[citation needed]

Personal life
