Traci Melchoris a Canadian television personality. She is known for her role as an entertainment reporter forCTV's seriesetalkand as a judge of the reality competition seriesCanada's Drag Race.Melchor is also the former co-host of CTV'sThe Social.[1]Melchor has won twoCanadian Screen Awardsfor her work hostingCanada's Drag Race.[2][3]
Early life
[edit]Originally fromPickering,Ontario,Melchor studied radio and television broadcasting atSeneca College.[citation needed]She has a son, Phoenix and a daughter, Phoebe.[4]
Career
[edit]She joinedCHUM Limitedas an entertainment reporter forCitytv,[5]later becoming a cohost ofMuchMusic'sRapCity.[citation needed]She moved toLos Angelesbecoming an entertainment reporter and host forE![6]and taking acting roles in a number of television series, before taking a new role with MuchMusic's sister stationMuchMoreMusic.[citation needed]
In 2008, Melchor joined CTV'seTalkas a reporter, and is currently one of their senior correspondents.[7]
In 2020, Melchor appeared in multiple episodes ofCanada's Drag Race,the Canadian edition ofRuPaul's Drag Raceas ‘Canada’s Squirrel Friend’ and a guest judge for the finale episode.[8]In June 2021, it was announced that Melchor would return for the second season as a main judge alongsideBrooke Lynn Hytes,Amanda Brugel,andBrad Goreski,replacingJeffrey Bowyer-ChapmanandStacey McKenzie.[9]Melchor also returned as a main judge for the third season in 2022 and fourth season in 2023.[10]
She also regularly contributes toThe Marilyn Denis Show,CP24 Breakfast,CTV News,and Toronto'sCHUM-FM.[citation needed]
