Travis Vaughn Tidwell(February 5, 1929 – July 1, 2004) was anAmerican footballplayer and coach. Tidwell played high school football forWoodlawn High School.He playedcollege footballatAuburn Universityand then in theNational Football League(NFL) with theNew York Giants.[1]He was MVP of the1950 Senior Bowl.[2]Tidwell led Auburn in defeating Alabama in 1949.Zipp Newmanwrote "There has never been a sweeter Auburn victory in all the 58 years of football on the Plains than the Tigers 14–13 win over Alabama." Tidwell stood 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 m) tall and weighed 185 pounds (84 kg).[1][3]
