Troika(Bosnian:Trojka), formerly known as theFour(Bosnian:Četvorka), is aliberalpolitical allianceinBosnia and Herzegovina.The alliance consists of theSocial Democratic Party,thePeople and Justiceparty andOur Party.

Formed in August 2020, ahead of theBosnian municipal elections,and initially called theFour,the alliance had also included theIndependent Bosnian-Herzegovinian List,before it left the alliance and renamed it to Troika.

History[edit]

Originally dubbed as theFour,the alliance consisted of theSocial Democratic Party(SDP BiH), thePeople and Justiceparty,Our Partyand theIndependent Bosnian-Herzegovinian List(NBL). It was formed for the2020 Bosnian municipal elections.[1]In the elections, the alliance made significant results, winning inCentar,Novo Sarajevo,Stari GradandIlidža,as well as other major cities in the country.[2]

On 20 November 2020, the alliance announced thatBogić Bogićevićaccepted the appointment asmayor of Sarajevofollowing the elections.[3]However, on 24 March 2021, Bogićević decided to pull out of the candidacy because of conflicts in the coalition.[4][5]This ultimately led to the NBL leaving the group, and renaming theFourto Troika.[6]

Troika, also supported by theUnion for a Better Futureand thePeople's European Union,announced SDP BiH'sDenis Bećirović's candidacy in theBosnian general electionon 21 May 2022, running forpresidencymember and representing theBosniaks.[7]At the general election, held on 2 October 2022, Bećirović was elected to the Presidency, having obtained 57.37% of the vote.[8]Following the election, Troika reached an agreement on the formation of a newgovernmentsupported by the coalition of theAlliance of Independent Social Democrats,theCroatian Democratic Unionand theDemocratic People's Alliance.[9]
