[edit]Tullaroan is the oldest GAA club inCounty Kilkenny.The club was founded in 1884, the same year as the foundation of theGaelic Athletic Association.Tullaroan currently lead the roll of honour in Kilkenny with twenty senior county championship titles.

The Downeys. Having hurled with Kilkenny in the 1940s and 1950s, Shem Downey left an impressive legacy but one that was quickly dwarfed by the achievements of his daughters, Angela and Ann.
