TheUniversity of Calabaris afederaluniversitysituated inCalabar, Cross River State,Nigeria.It is one of Nigeria's second-generation federal universities.[1]The University of Calabar was acampusof theUniversity of Nigeriauntil 1975.[2]The present Vice Chancellor isDr. Florence B. Obi(Professor). The post of theDVC(Academic) is held by Dr. Angela Oyo Ita (Professor), while Dr. Grace Eno Nta (Professor) is the currentDVC(Administration).[3]

Thearchitecturewas designed byJohn Elliott.[4][5]It was established by decree to fulfill this traditional mandate, its motto "Knowledge for Service".[6]

The University of Calabar was one of the foremost Nigerian Universities to automate students' registration processes through the College Portal,[7]and has taken a step further to automate her alumni relations which includes an online transcript request and processing, being first of its kind in the country.[8]

University Library[edit]

TheUniversity of Calabar Libraryis the main academic library of the University of Calabar, located in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria.[9]Established in 1975, the library has since grown to become one of the largest and most comprehensive academic libraries in Nigeria, serving as a resource for students, faculty, and researchers.[10]
