Upton Rock(62°11′43″S59°07′23″W/ 62.19522°S 59.12308°W) is a rock lying 3 nautical miles (6 km) northwest ofFlat Top Peninsula,King George Island,in theSouth Shetland Islands.Named by theUnited Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee(UK-APC) in 1961 for Benjamin Upton, Master of the American sealing vesselNancyfrom Salem, MA, which visited the South Shetland Islands in 1821–22.
