Uruguayan Civil Code

TheCivil Code of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay(Spanish:Código Civil de la República Oriental del Uruguay) is a systematic collection ofUruguayan lawsdesigned to comprehensively deal with the core areas ofprivate lawsuch as for dealing with business and negligence lawsuits and practices.

Thiscivil codewas originally published on 1 January 1868, it was the work ofTristan Narvaja,inspired in a project byEduardo Acevedo.Important sources were theRoman law,Spanish legislation andcanon law,as well as theChilean Civil Code,theSpanish Civil Code,texts byAugusto Teixeira de FreitasandDalmacio Vélez Sarsfield,theCode Napoléonand many others. In 1995 it was updated.[1]
