Vastedda(Sicilian:[vaˈʃt̪ɛɖːa]) is the traditionalSicilianbreadused to prepare thepani câ meusa,a sandwich ofvealspleen.[1][2]It often also includescaciocavalloandricottatoppings.Vasteddais most common in the city ofPalermo.[3]

InGratteri,near Palermo, a fried version calledvastedda frittais also prepared. Thevastedda frittais recognized by theItalian Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestryas aprodotto agroalimentare tradizionale(PAT) and is listed into the official list of traditional Italian agricultural and food product.[4]
