It is located on the riverSèvre Nantaise,and was a historical town ofBrittany.

Today, Vertou is a component of theNantes Métropoleand is the fifth-largestsuburbof the city ofNantes,lying just southeast of Nantes.Vertou stationhas rail connections to Clisson and Nantes.
