Wabun code(Cùng văn モールス ký hiệu,wabun mōrusu fugō,Japanese text in Morse code)is a form ofMorse codeused to sendJapanese languageinkanacharacters.[1]UnlikeInternational Morse Code,which represents letters of theLatin script,in Wabun each symbol represents a Japanesekana.[2]For this reason,Wabun codeis also sometimes calledKana code.[3]

When Wabun code is intermixed with International Morse code, theprosignDO(▄▄▄ ▄ ▄ ▄▄▄ ▄▄▄ ▄▄▄) is used to announce the beginning of Wabun, and the prosignSN(▄ ▄ ▄ ▄▄▄ ▄) is used to announce the return to International Code.
