Wang Menghui(Chinese:Vương mông huy;pinyin:Wáng Ménghuī;born January 1960) is a Chinese politician, and the currentCommunist Party Secretary of Hubei.Previously he served asMinister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.Among other roles, he has served as party chief ofXiamen,and party chief ofShenyang.

Biography[edit]

Originally fromYancheng,Jiangsu.He attended the department of architecture atTsinghua University.After graduating from university, he became an instructor at his alma mater. He also attendedWarsaw University of Technology.In 1993, he abandoned academia and entered politics in Guangdong, at a county-level city underGuangzhou.In May 2004, he became mayor ofShanwei.In 2006, he obtained his master's in engineering.[1]

In September 2008, he became party chief ofYunfu.[2]In December 2011, he became vice governor of Fu gian.[3]In May 2013, he became party chief ofXiamen.

In August 2016, Wang was namedCommunist Party SecretaryofShenyang;in December 2016, he was named deputy party secretary ofLiaoningprovince.[4]In June 2017, Wang was namedMinister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.[5]

In June 2017, he was appointedminister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development,and held that office until March 2022.[6]

On 29 March 2022, he was madeCommunist Party Secretary of Hubei,succeedingYing Yong.[7]
