Will Slineyis an Irishcomic booksartist. He is known as the co-creator of theStar WarscharacterRen,and for his work on comic books such as theMarvel'sFearless Defendersseries, thegraphic novelCeltic Warrior: The Legend of Cú Chulainn,and the monthly seriesSpider-Man 2099.[1][2][3][4]
Early life
[edit]Will Sliney is from Ballycotton inCounty Corkand went toCork Institute of Technologywhere he graduated in Multimedia.[1]
Career
[edit]Sliney's career began in Irish and UKsmall presspublications before moving to create art forFarscapeandStar Warscomics.[citation needed]He later began workingMarvel Comics.[citation needed]
From March 2020, during theCOVID-19pandemicin theRepublic of Ireland,Sliney has presented short drawing lessons in the "We Will Draw" segment ofRTÉ Television'sHome School Hub.[5]
Personal life
[edit]He proposed to his girlfriend in September 2015 and their first son was born in August 2018.[6][7]
Sliney is a volunteer for theRoyal National Lifeboat Institution(RNLI) based locally.[8]He once rescued an exhausted dolphin who became stranded in the bogland at Ballinamona.[9]He is also a long time Everton fan and has created art for them.[10]
