William Egerton(originallyWilliam Tatton;1749–1806) was an English politician[1]and a member of theEgerton family.

Egerton was the son of William Tatton and Hester, sister ofSamuel Egerton,who was her brother's heiress. He changed his surname to his mother's on 9 July 1780.[1]

Egerton represented asMember of Parliamentthe constituencies ofHindon,Newcastle-under-LymeandCheshire.[1]

Family

Egerton married four times. By his second marriage, to Mary daughter ofRichard Wilbraham Bootle,he had three sons and one daughter.[1]The second son of this marriage wasWilbraham Egerton.[2]
