TheWindward Coastwas used to describe an area ofWest Africalocated on the coast betweenCape MountandAssini,[1]i.e. the coastlines of the modern states ofSierra Leone,LiberiaandIvory Coast,to the west of what was called theGold Coast.A related region was called thePepper CoastorGrain Coast.
