Yalden's rat(Desmomys yaldeni) is a species ofrodentin the familyMuridae,found only inEthiopia,where its naturalhabitatis themontane forests.It is threatened byhabitat loss.
The rat got its name in honour ofDerek Yalden,azoologist.[1]
