Yao Zhe(Chinese:Diêu triết,name at birth:Yáo Zhìzhāng Diêu trật chương ) (August 28, 1906 – May 27, 1979) was aPeople's Liberation Armylieutenant general.He was born inShaoyang County,HunanProvince.[1]Yao joined theChinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Armyin July 1928 and theChinese Communist Partyin 1929. He fought alongsideLiu Zhidanin theChinese Civil War.During theSecond Sino-Japanese War,he was active in Daqing Mountain as part of theShanxi-Chahar Province-Hebei.He participated in theDatong-Jining CampaignagainstFu Zuoyi.
