Ye Shi

Ye Shi(simplified Chinese:Diệp thích;traditional Chinese:Diệp thích;pinyin:Yè Shì;Wade–Giles:Yeh Shih,1150–1223),courtesy nameZhengze( chính tắc ),pseudonymMr. Shuixin( thủy tâm tiên sinh ), was a Chineseneo-Confucianof theSong dynasty.

A native ofWenzhou, Zhe gian g,he was the most famous figure of theYongjia School,a neo-Confucianism School composed mostly of philosophers fromWenzhou PrefectureinZhe gian gprovince. In contrast to other scholars in the same period likeZhu XiandLu Jiuyuan,he stressed practical learning and applying Confucian doctrine to real world problems. This school had important influence on later thinkers from Zhe gian g province, includingWang ShourenandHuang Zongxi,who were the most important philosophers in the Ming and Qing periods.
