Yoandy Garlobo Romay(January 12, 1977 – July 16, 2023) was a Cuban baseball player who starred forthe national teamat the2006 World Baseball Classic.Garlobo was thedesignated hitterfor Cuba at the tournament, where he had a.480batting average—second only toKen Griffey Jr.among players with at least 20 plate appearances—and was named to the all-tournament team.

In Cuba, Garlobo was the DH forMatanzasof theCuban National Series.During the2005-06 season,he had a.407 batting average.

Yoandy Garlobo died from complications of diabetes on July 16, 2023, at the age of 46.[1]
