TheHuainanzi( Hoài Nam Tử;pinyinHuáinánzǐ,Wade-GilesHuai-nan Tzu;literally "The Masters/Philosophers of Huainan" ) is a 2nd century BCE Chinese philosophical classic from theHan dynastythat blendsDaoist,Confucianist,andLegalistconcepts, including theories such asYin-Yangand theFive Phases.It was written under the patronage ofLiu An,King ofHuainan,a legendarily prodigious author.
