Status | Name | Description |

| Stub | An article withlittle or no information, ornot formattedeven close to themanual of style. An otherwise-validarticlewithout anarticle skeletontemplate may hold this status briefly; adding an appropriate skeleton promotes the article to "outline". A page which has little or no prospect of becoming an article (or being redirected to an article) would be tagged for speedy {{delete}} ornominatedfor {{vfd}} if what little information it conveys does not meet Wikivoyage'sgoals. |
| Outline | Has at least the normalintroductory paragraph(this can be as short as a single sentence describing where the country is) and atemplate outlinelaid out for the article. Some of the sections of the template may have content, but not necessarily all of them. |
| Usable | Has links tothe country's major cities and other destinations(usable status or better), a validregional structure, and aGet insection describing all of the typical ways to get there. Information about the country'scurrency, language, cuisine, and cultureis included. The most prominent attractionsare identified and their general position within the country is indicated. |
| Guide | Has links tothe country's major cities and other destinations(usable status or better), a validregional structure, and well developed prose inall the standard sections.Allimmediate subregionsmust beusable status or better.Layout closely matches themanual of style.Allimportant ways to get inshould be detailed, along with thorough information ongetting around. At least 2–3 good-qualityphotosaccompany the article; preferably showing famous or important attractions. Should have a custompage-banner. |
| Star | Has a tourist-stylemapshowing all thelinked destinations(i.e., cities, subregions, and other destinations lists) (guide status or better) and routes between them. The format eithermatches themanual of styleexactlyor is the exception that proves the rule. Prose is not onlynear-perfectgrammatically but also tight, effective, and enjoyable.
