  • As with English “have on”, Germananhabenis understood as progressive ( “to be wearing” ), unless some adverb suggests otherwise. This is distinct fromtragen.Hence,Er trägt keine Sandalencould also be a general statement ( “He doesn’t wear sandals.” ).
  • With headgear,aufhabenis preferred instead (thoughanhabenis not impossible either).
