Peruvian President Dina Boluarte meets with China Southern Power Grid Executives

On June 27, Peruvian President Dina Boluarte met with China Southern Power Grid (CSG) Board Chairman Meng Zhenping and President Qian Chaoyang in Shanghai. The meeting was also attended by the Peruvian Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Health, Transport and Communications, Housing, Construction and Sanitation, and the Peruvian Ambassador to China and the Chinese Ambassador to Peru.

Boluarte pointed out that China is Peru's largest trading partner and one of the main investors. The two countries have a long history of friendly exchanges and fruitful cooperation in various fields. In recent years, Peru has made efforts to help its economy recover rapidly and has given foreign investors a lot of convenience. It is hoped that CSG will operate Enel Distribución Perú well and provide better and more convenient power services to the majority of users, so as to better benefit the people of Peru. Peru is an important country in Latin America with great development potential. CSG is welcome to further increase its investment in Peru, become a part of Peru's development, and make greater contributions to Peru's energy and power industry and economic and social development. Peru will provide a good business environment for enterprises such as CSG and promote more positive results in the comprehensive strategic partnership between Peru and China.

Meng said that CSG is actively implementing the important consensus of the heads of state of the two countries and is determined to increase investment in Peru. The completion of the equity transfer of Enel Distribución Perú in June of this year was the largest investment project by a Chinese company in Peru in the past five years and the largest transaction in the Peruvian securities market. Peru is one of the most promising markets in Latin America. CSG will always adhere to the principle of "joint consultation, joint construction and shared benefits" to achieve win-win cooperation, deepen cooperation and exchanges with Peru in the field of energy and power, strictly abide by local laws and regulations in the power industry, operate Enel Distribución Perú in a prudent manner, actively share technology and experience in building long-distance and complex power transmission networks, promote the development of clean energy such as photovoltaic and wind power in Peru, better assist the green and low-carbon transformation of energy, and at the same time further expand investment and strive to achieve more fruitful cooperation results to serve the economic and social development of Peru.

During their stay in Shanghai, Meng Zhenping and Qian Chaoyang also attended the investment forum hosted by the Embassy of Peru in China.
