Taxinomie
[modifier|modifier le code]Gastrotheca ernestoia été relevée de sa synonymie avecGastrotheca microdiscuspar Caramaschi et Rodrigues en 2007[2]ou elle avait été placée par Duellman en 1984[3].
Étymologie
[modifier|modifier le code]Cette espèce est nommée en l'honneur d'Ernst Wilhelm Garbe(1853-1925)[4].
