Oge'ez[4](ግዕዝ,gəʿəz) é unha antigalingua semítica meridionalque xurdiu enEritreae na rexión norte deEtiopía,noCorno de África.Foi a lingua oficial doReino de Aksume dacorte imperial etíope.
Hoxe, o ge'ez mantense comolingua litúrxicadaIgrexa etíope tewahedo,daIgrexa eritrea tewahedo,daIgrexa católica etíope,daIgrexa católica eritrea,e da comunidadexudíaBeta Israel.Porén, oamháricoetíope (a principallingua francada moderna Etiopía) ou outras linguas locais, poden ser empregadas para ossermóns.Otigriñae otigréestán estreitamente relacionadas co ge'ez.[5]Porén, algúns lingüistas non cren que o ge'ez constitúa o devanceiro común das linguas etíopes modernas, senón que o ge'ez converteuse nunha lingua separada a partir dunha hipotética lingua non atestada,[6]e que en realidade é unha lingua irmá extinta do tigré e o tigriña.[7]
